Telstra Data Exchange Chatswood Reclad – National Rollout
Telstra Data Exchange Chatswood Reclad – National Rollout
The Telstra Chatswood data exchange formed part of Telstra’s national recladding rollout, addressing the replacement of existing dated pebblecrete and non-compliant façade materials across critical telecommunications infrastructure. The project involved the removal and replacement of the existing cladding with ALPOLIC™ NC/A1, delivering a DtS non-combustible aluminium cladding solution suitable for high-risk, high-importance facilities.
Located adjacent to a busy train station and active rail corridor, the project presented significant logistical and safety challenges. Public access was required to be maintained throughout the works, demanding careful coordination and sequencing to ensure uninterrupted operation and public safety in a highly constrained urban environment.
More than 4,700 m² of ALPOLIC™ NC/A1 in Green Metallic and White was installed, resulting in a dramatic transformation of the building’s façade. The project demonstrates how compliance-driven recladding can be successfully delivered at scale, even in complex locations, while achieving a refreshed and contemporary architectural outcome aligned with Telstra’s national standards.
